COLLEGE OF ARTS & LETTERS UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH INITIATIVE

2022 – 2023 / Typography, Print Design, Embroidery, Studio Art, Research, Writing, Public Lecture

I was granted funding by Michigan State University’s College of Arts and Letters to work with d’Ann de Simone, professional artist and professor, to assist in preparation for de Simone’s Solo Exhibition, ‘textilis mnēmosynē’, at the A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. I was honored to assist professor and designer Kelly Salchow MacArthur for de Simone’s exhibition catalog. I solely designed de Simone’s exhibition card for the A.I.R. Gallery.

Alongside various preparations for de Simone’s show, I was completing my own research on unattainable body standards and the dangers of perfectionism. I presented my research at the University Undergraduate Research and Arts Forum at Michigan State University and received first place for my work.*
